Their story

Four girls from TS

TS Entertainment put Secret together as a quartet: Jun Hyoseong as leader, Song Ji-eun, Sunhwa and the rapper Zinger. They started in October 2009 with "I Want You Back" and an invitation-only showcase. Success came fast. "Magic" made them known the next spring, and by summer "Madonna" was their first No. 1 on the Gaon chart.

"Shy Boy" and the big years

The real breakthrough was "Shy Boy". It gave Secret their first music show win in January 2011 and then held Music Bank for three straight weeks. "Starlight Moonlight" followed that summer and brought them a Digital Bonsang at the Golden Disc Awards. Japan came next, with a Japanese "Madonna" and later a full album. At home they kept a steady pace, from "Poison" to "YooHoo", for which Zinger switched to her real name, Hana.

From cute to cool and back

Secret never stuck to one look for long. To these ears "Shy Boy" and "Starlight Moonlight" are sweet, playful pop, while "Poison" and "Talk That" aim for something cooler and more grown-up. The last album of the first era, Secret Summer, was led by "I'm In Love". Then things came apart. Sunhwa left in 2016 to concentrate on acting, contract disputes with the agency followed, and Song Ji-eun left too. Group activity stopped.

Where they are now

After TS Entertainment closed, Hyoseong kept busy as an actor and host. In June 2026 she and Zinger returned under RBW with a new member, Yebin, who is 13 years younger than Hyoseong. The special mini album Secret Flavor paired the new title track "Ice Cream" with new versions of the old hits. Hyoseong told Star News she does not see the return as a one-off.
