Their story
A song with her own name
She was born Pranpriya Manobal in Buriram province in Thailand and later took the name Lalisa, which a fortune teller had suggested to her. After five years in BLACKPINK she went solo in September 2021 with a single album called, simply, LALISA. The title track's video set a Guinness record for views by a solo artist in its first day.
Starting LLOUD
When BLACKPINK renewed with YG for group work only, she took her solo career elsewhere. In February 2024 she launched LLOUD, which she called a platform for her vision in music and entertainment, and teamed up with RCA Records. "ROCKSTAR" was the first result, with part of its video shot in Bangkok's Chinatown. "New Woman" with Rosalía and "Moonlit Floor" followed before the year was out.
Rap first
Rap is where she started in BLACKPINK, and it is still at the centre of her solo work, from "MONEY" to "SaWaDiKa". Her first studio album, Alter Ego, came out in February 2025, the same month she made her acting debut as Mook in The White Lotus. Its single "Born Again", with Doja Cat and RAYE, won Best K-Pop at that year's VMAs.
Where she is now
Her latest era began with a greeting. "SaWaDiKa", named after the Thai word for hello, came out in early September 2026 and became the fastest video of the year to reach 100 million views. At the VMAs on 27 September "Dream" won Best Pop, and she performed the new single around a tuk-tuk. The EP PRESS PLAY followed on 23 October with six songs.
