Their story

Out of Fin.K.L

Lee Hyori spent five years as the leader of Fin.K.L, one side of the girl group rivalry with S.E.S. that defined the late 1990s. When the group went quiet she stepped out alone. Her first album, Stylish..., came out in August 2003 on DSP Media, the company that had launched Fin.K.L.

Ten minutes

Its single "10 Minutes" was the summer hit of that year, and her look got as much attention as the bold lyrics. By December she had grand prizes from both KBS and SBS. Dark Angel and "Get Ya!" followed, then It's Hyorish and "U-Go-Girl", and from 2008 she was also a main cast member of the SBS variety show Family Outing.

Dance pop and a quieter life

Her albums kept to big dance pop, with "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "Bad Girls", both on B2M Entertainment. After Monochrome she stepped back from the entertainment world and moved to Jeju Island. She returned in 2017 with Black and with JTBC's Hyori's Homestay, which let viewers into the guest house she ran there.

Where she is now

In 2020 she was back on variety TV and dancing again, as Linda G of SSAK3 with Rain and Yoo Jae-suk, and in Refund Sisters. She later signed with Antenna and released "Hoodie e Banbaji", named after her everyday outfit and co-written with Hangzoo, with choreography by the dance crew Maple Lip. In September 2026 Fin.K.L announced they would work together again as a full group, the first time in two decades. Their agency, Gemstone E&M, plans it as a two-year run toward the group's anniversary.
