Their story
Amoeba Culture
Crush signed with the hip hop label Amoeba Culture in 2013 and released "Red Dress" with TakeOne before his official start. He officially debuted on 1 April 2014 with "Sometimes", and his first album, Crush on You, came out that June. It won the Korean Music Awards prize for best R&B and soul album.
Duets that stuck
Much of his early fame came in pairs. "Just", with Zion.T, entered the Gaon chart at number one in January 2015. A year later "Don't Forget" with Taeyeon gave him his first music show trophy and a vocal prize at MAMA. At the end of 2016 came "Beautiful", his OST for Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, which reached number two.
Funk, ballads and friends
Crush moves between slow R&B, ballads and bright funk, and he tends to bring friends along. He is part of the crew Fanxy Child with Zico, Dean and Penomeco, and his singles regularly feature rappers. In 2019 he left Amoeba after six years. He talked about going alone, then signed with Psy's P NATION that July. His military service started in November 2020, and his return in September 2022 was "Rush Hour", a funk track with j-hope of BTS.
Where he is now
Since coming back he has released the album Wonderego and, in August 2025, the EP Fang. In between he sang "Love You with All My Heart" for Queen of Tears. After a year and two months without new music, he returned on 21 October 2026 with "Creak", featuring IU. The two had sung at each other's concerts back in 2019, but it was their first release together.
