Their story

Buskers from Cube

CLC was Cube Entertainment's first new girl group since 4MINUTE, and Cube sold them as musicians first. Before the debut showcase at AX Hall the five members played guitar, keyboard and maracas outside the venue and covered Adele and Maroon 5. Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn and Yeeun debuted with "Pepe" in March 2015. The name stood for CrystaL Clear, and the image was just as clean and youthful.

Seven members, then a trophy

The line-up grew in February 2016, when Elkie from Hong Kong and Eunbin, who had once been planned for the original group, joined for Refresh. That year they also debuted in Japan. "Hobgoblin" came out in 2017 and "Black Dress" a year later. Still, their first music show win took until February 2019, when "No" topped The Show and the members burst into tears.

From sweet to sharp

Early CLC songs like "Pepe" and "High Heels" were bright and playful, with lyrics cheeky enough to earn them a sly-rookie nickname. From Crystyle on, the title tracks turned darker and more confident. The 2020 single "Helicopter" stayed on that path. Seunghee's piano and songwriting and Seungyeon's guitar never became the main selling point, but they stayed part of the group's identity on stage.

Where they are now

The members left Cube one by one in 2021 and 2022, and in May 2022 the agency said CLC's official activities had ended. Yujin went on to lead Kep1er, Sorn and Yeeun built solo careers, and Eunbin kept acting. In summer 2026, for the 11th anniversary, CLC held After All concerts in Taipei and Hong Kong, and in Hong Kong all seven stood on one stage again. Eunbin, who had left Cube in May, planned to step away from the industry after those shows.
