Their story
Warriors from TS
B.A.P, short for Best Absolute Perfect, debuted under TS Entertainment in January 2012 with Warrior. The six members were Yongguk, the leader, Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, Jongup and Zelo. They came out loud and confrontational, and they kept the pace high: "Power" arrived three months later and the first EP, No Mercy, that summer. The fans became BABY, "Baby Always Behind You", and got their own song, "B.A.B.Y", with lyrics co-written by Yongguk.
Charts abroad, trophies at home
Their records found an audience outside Korea early. One Shot went to the top of Billboard's World Albums chart, and Badman did the same a few months later. The first music show win took longer. It came in February 2014, when "1004 (Angel)" from the first full album, First Sensibility, won on Show Champion. That year the Live On Earth tour took them through the US, Asia, Australia and Europe.
Short films and hard hip-hop
B.A.P were known for heavy hip-hop beats, big group choruses and music videos that played like short films. "One Shot", "1004 (Angel)" and "Skydive" all had full storylines, and "Skydive" was long enough to feel like a film of its own. The years in between were not easy. In November 2014 the members went to court over their contracts, and they only returned to TS after a settlement in August 2015.
Where they are now
After the single album Ego there were no new Korean releases. Yongguk and Zelo left in 2018 when their contracts ran out, and Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae and Jongup followed in February 2019, ending B.A.P. Five years later Yongguk, Daehyun, Youngjae and Jongup came back with Curtain Call and a two-night fan concert. They used their surnames, BANG&JUNG&YOO&MOON, because the old name was out of reach. In June 2026 Zelo joined three of them on "Name", a song on Daehyun's solo album.
