Their story
Two voices in 2008
Lee Hae-ri and Kang Min-kyung debuted as Davichi in January 2008 with the album Amaranth. The video for the first single, "I Love You Even Though I Hate You", starred Lee Hyo-ri and Lee Mi-yeon, and by that summer "Love and War" had reached No. 1. The name comes from a Korean phrase meaning "shining over everything". Lee is five years older than Kang.
"8282" and "Turtle"
"8282" led their first EP, Davichi in Wonderland, in 2009. More chart hits followed, and the 2013 album Mystic Ballad gave them "Turtle", a No. 1 on the Gaon chart. In 2014 they left Core Contents Media for CJ E&M, where they would stay for ten years.
Ballads for dramas
Davichi sing power ballads with an R&B edge, not dance-pop. That made them a natural pick for drama soundtracks. In 2016 alone they recorded "This Love" for Descendants of the Sun and "Forgetting You" for Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Each member has also worked alone. Lee Hae-ri released the EP h in 2017, and Kang Min-kyung debuted solo in 2019 and built a large following on YouTube.
Where they are now
After "I'll Be By Your Side" in March 2024 they left WakeOne and joined CAM WITH US, a label founded that May. "Time Capsule", written and produced by Lee Mujin, came out in October 2025. The concerts of the same name filled KSPO DOME in January 2026. The year-end shows In Our Scenes, set for 12 and 13 December at the same venue, sold out in October. Fans voted on the songs they wanted to hear that night.
