CRAVITY debuted under Starship Entertainment in April 2020, at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Four of the nine had already been seen on Produce X 101, and Minhee and Hyeongjun had even debuted in X1 before that group broke up. The first EP, Season 1. Hideout: Remember Who We Are, came with "Break All the Rules". By the end of the year they were the Melon Music Awards' New Artist of the Year.
For a while the group was better known for its covers than its own songs, and fans called them "Covervity". That changed in 2024. Evershine came out in February and "Love or Die" brought their first Music Bank trophy in March, and in November they won the final of Mnet's Road to Kingdom: Ace of Ace, ahead of ONEUS and 8TURN. A month later the single album Find the Orbit followed, built around the guitar-heavy "Now or Never".
In June 2025 CRAVITY rebranded. The name now stands for "crave" plus "gravity", and grapes became the new symbol, because they can be sweet or tangy and turn into wine with age, as Hyeongjun put it. Serim handed the leadership to Wonjin and Hyeongjun the same month. The album Dare to Crave had the first unit songs in their catalogue. On sonorous, Serim, Woobin and Taeyoung each wrote a track of their own.
All nine members are still together. ReDeFINE came out in the spring of 2026, and sonorous followed at the end of September. Its title track, "LOUDER", is a dark electronic dance song with lyrics by several of the members, and it brought them a music show win before promotions closed on Show! Music Core. Next on the calendar are the SONOROUS concerts at Olympic Hall in Seoul in November.
