AMPERS&ONE was FNC Entertainment's first new boy group since P1Harmony. Kamden and Kyrell had lived in Seattle, Brian came from Canada, and Mackiah, an Australian, spent his early years in Busan. Kamden, Brian and Jiho were already known from Mnet's Boys Planet. They debuted in November 2023 with "On And On", a groovy song set on a school campus, and at their showcase the members said their goal was a rookie award.
The first releases kept things bright, from "Broken Heart" to the love formula of "He + She = We". In early 2025 they toured the US for the first time. The change came that August with LOUD & PROUD. "That's That" was hip-hop with trap and a saxophone hook, sold under a "bad angel" concept, and Brian called the comeback their turning point. The video set a new group record for views within days, and the EP became their first to sell over 100,000 copies.
Kamden and Mackiah now write lyrics for every track. On DEFINITION, out in April 2026, the group went back to Korean roots. The title track "GOD" puts a heavy trap beat under ethnic synths, and the title also plays on the gat, the traditional Korean hat. Traditional dance shows up in the choreography of the video. Kyrell had called the previous album experimental; this one sounded more sure of itself.
The Born to Define tour started in Seoul in May 2026 and crossed the US through 17 cities, ending at the Hammer Theater in San Jose. Mackiah explained the title on stage: nobody else gets to define them. September was booked for their first European dates, six shows from Berlin to London.
