Their story
Messengers from another world
PLAVE came out of VLAST, a small company that builds virtual characters. The five members, Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho and Hamin, appear as webtoon-style animated figures. In their story they come from a world of their own and were given the power to reach people on Earth. The name joins "play" with the French "rêve", dream. They debuted in March 2023 with the single album ASTERUM, and from the start the members wrote, composed and choreographed the songs themselves.
The win nobody expected
Plenty of people treated virtual idols as a gimmick. "WAY 4 LUV" changed that. In March 2024 it gave PLAVE a win on Show Champion, the first ever for a virtual group on a Korean music show, and three days later they beat LE SSERAFIM on Music Core. Their first fan concert at Olympic Hall sold out in minutes. They also became the first virtual group with a community on Weverse.
From bright to dark and back
The ASTERUM trilogy told how the members came to be and met their fans, in a bright pop sound. Caligo Pt.1 turned that around in 2025: "Dash" opened a story about confusion and facing an enemy, and Caligo Pt.2 pushed it further with the rock-based "Born Savage". In between they went soft and silly with PLBBUU, a Sanrio collaboration where they turn into dolls. Their Japanese debut single, "Kakurenbo", also came out that year.
Where they are now
PLAVE now fill the biggest rooms in Seoul. After KSPO Dome and Gocheok Sky Dome on their first Asia tour, they opened their first world tour, KEEP IT MANIC, at Incheon Munhak Stadium in September 2026. Caligo Pt.2 had already taken them onto the Billboard 200. In October they released HYPERDRIVE, built around a racing concept, with "Star Trace" as their first EDM title track and, for the first time, a song by outside composers.
