P NATION had Hwasa, Heize and Crush, but no girl group until June 2025. PSY handed the music for the debut to Soyeon of i-dle, who produced it and guided the four members through their first recordings. Mia said her advice got them through a tense first session. All four were still minors: Yihyun and Beni from Korea, Kumi and Mia from Japan. Their symbol, a red cherry, showed up in the teasers before the music did.
The pre-release "Bet You'll Regret It" came first, a cheeky warning that you would regret not falling for them right away. A week later came the real debut. "F Girl" is a defiant track about refusing to be judged by grades and scores, sung over loud guitars. PSY's advice to them was simple: be the only ones, not number one.
Yihyun calls their sound "baby rock", lovely on the outside and sure of itself underneath. The "baby" in the name, she says, means innocence and strength, not someone who needs protecting. "I DONT CARE" kept the guitars but sounded older. On After Cry lyricist Kim Eana and producer Ryan Jhun took over most of the songwriting, and "Shapeshifter" set guitar riffs against dreamy synths.
After Cry, their first EP, came out in March 2026 as the first chapter of a planned "tears trilogy" about the feelings that build up before crying. The title track "Bittersweet" asks for high notes, and at the showcase they sang them live while dancing. Yihyun said it took her back to her trainee days. Their stated goal for the promotions was a first music show win and an encore stage. NME had already named them among the emerging artists to watch in 2026.
